Baptist Hospital Women’s Auxiliary

The members of the Baptist Hospital Women’s Auxiliary have been donating their time to help the local Baptist Hospitals and their patients since the first Baptist Memorial Hospital opened in 1912.

Then, they were known as “The Linen Band” because they rolled bandages and performed similar tasks. Today, about 40 women from a number of churches do much more. They sew items like stuffed toys, pillows for mastectomy patients, pediatric surgery caps, memory envelopes, baby blankets, walker pockets, and other specialty items.

Our group also donates items to distribute in goody bags at Christmas for some long-term patients, as well as clothing items for patients who don’t have clothes. We are blessed to have donations from churches and individuals to fund the Baptist Women’s Hospital’s baby Bible ministry. Parents of newborns are given a Bible story book by chaplains and auxiliary volunteers.

Please join us. We meet monthly at Baptist Women’s Hospital. For more information, contact Rosemary at rdonaldso@aol.com or Suzanne at jones_sb@hotmail.com
