I love the passage in Matthew 6 where Jesus told his disciples, “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” We’re not told what our Father will reward us with, Just that he will reward us. The KJV and NKJV add the how, saying it will be “openly”. Whether or not the word openly belongs in the text I am not sure, but what I am sure of is when Dad chooses to shine his light of favor upon our life or ministry it’s a beautiful and joyous occasion. Confidential Care Mobile Ministry was recently reminded of this truth when the Memphis Business Journal chose our ministry, (out of a strong group of local secular businesses), as the 2022 Best Places to Work, (Small Business category). Yes, we too were surprised, but I guess we shouldn’t have been, didn’t the Psalmist sing, “…The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.” Well, today, we’re singing too – to God be the glory!
