Greetings from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary!
We are here to serve the church and equip the next generation of pastors, missionaries, and church leaders.
At the heart of MABTS is the desire to take the gospel “to all the world for Jesus’ sake.” We want to equip and encourage students to own their Great Commission responsibility. This Fall’s mission emphasis is “Going.”
I would like to personally ask for your help in providing outlets and opportunities for our students to own their Great Commission responsibility.
On Tuesday, November 7, the North American Mission Board will be on campus to share about opportunities “to go” on mission in North America through their GenSend program.
On Thursday, November 9, the International Mission Board will be on campus to share about opportunities “to go” on mission internationally through their Hands On program and their Journeyman program.
On Wednesday, November 8, we are inviting Mid-South Baptist Churches to come and share how students can “go” on mission at home. I would like to invite you to host a booth for your church at our Mid-South Missions fair where students can learn what your church is doing and how they might join in. The local church missions fair will be from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Your booth might consist of any of the following:
- The people and places of local engagement
- Local mission outreach and ministry projects
- Opportunities for internship and mentorship programs of your church
- Opportunities to serve your church through either volunteer or paid roles
There is no cost for you to participate, but we do need to know that you are coming so that we can reserve a table for you and your church. Please RSVP no later than October 31 to reserve a spot. Please pray that the Lord uses this week as a catalyst to move His people onto His mission.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me (jcharping@mabts.edu) or call (901) 800-6731.
In Him,
John Charping, PhD
Chairman of the Missions Department
Associate Professor of Theology & Missions
