I will build my church

Art Groomes, Associate Executive Director of Missions

In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said he would build his church and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Christ’s church empowered by His Spirit can battle the forces that attack believers to hinder God’s purposes. Jesus promised that the gates of Hades will not succeed in the end. This why the Mid-South Baptist Association continues to partner with churches.

The Mid-South Baptist Association is excited about partnering with churches in the 901 to battle the forces of evil and make disciples. In a recent council meeting, the Administrative Leadership Council along with the Executive Director of Missions made the following motion: We encourage all MSBA churches in 2021 and 2022 to pursue God with the following six responses: humility, honesty, repentance, forgiveness, obedience, and seeking God’s kingdom first. We further encourage MSBA churches to partner with Life Action Ministries and/or other ministries, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and professors in laying a foundation for God to bring revival and spiritual awakening.

The MSBA desires to help churches advance the kingdom of God by advocating ministry growth, working with trusted ministry organizations, and inviting churches to engage in missions. The association has invited Dr. John Avant from Life Action to help with this initiative.  Dr. Avant is no stranger to the Mid-South. Several churches in our association have hosted him in recent years.

On March 1, at 10:00 A.M. during our Focus Church event at Bellevue Baptist Church, Dr. Avant will discuss how the six transformational principles Life Action has used in churches across the country can prepare the way for God to work in remarkable ways. Please join us for this Focus Church event.

Remember, Jesus offers hope as we battle the spiritual forces of evil. He has promised that “I will build my church.”
