During the month of July, Tennesseans will gather in each county around the state to pray. This prayer initiative began in 2024, when Tennessee launched a prayer movement with House Joint Resolution (HJR) 803, a “call to prayer, fasting, and repentance” for the month of July. The resolution was introduced by Representative Monty Fritts, carried to the Senate by Senator Mark Pody, and signed by Governor Bill Lee. 

In 2025, HJR 0051 passed both the House and the Senate with 59 co-sponsors in the Assembly and was signed by Governor Bill Lee on May 2nd. Prayer gatherings are scheduled from July 1-31, 2026.
