I am grateful to be a part of God’s heart in our city. Thank you Mid-South Baptist churches for allowing the Jack May Memphis offering to assist with missions at the Ministry Center this year.
We are busy cultivating a place of refuge at our Send Relief facility: a safe place where individuals and families feel known and loved. We are making great strides in our efforts to build up the capacity of the ministry through establishing relationships with community partners so that we may: Strengthen Communities, Care For Refugees, Protect Children and Families, Fight Human Trafficking, and Respond to Crisis.
Through our partnership with the Dwelling Place Christian church, we aim to cultivate places of refuge in our facility, local schools, and individual homes in the Raleigh community and across the city.
Cultivating places of refuge: Building Update
The building now has a replaced roof! Additionally, 95% of the heating and air conditioning system is online.
And soon, as early as the end of July, the contractors will begin renovating the first floor of the building.
The Dwelling Place Christian Church: Memphis Food Bank
One way The Dwelling Place serves the Raleigh community is by serving as a distribution point for the Memphis Food Bank. They recently hosted a sign-up event for families to pick up food. Continue to pray for the people they connect with through this important work.
Community Partners: Refugee Memphis
We have officially entered into a ministry agreement with Refugee Memphis. They will occupy approximately 3,000 of our 88,000 square foot space.
It is currently being demolitioned in preparation for the rebuild.
Refugee Memphis is committed to being Christ’s hands and feet among refugees here in Memphis. For more information about their work click here.
Neighborhood: Home Fire Campaign
We recently hosted the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign at The Dwelling Place Christian Church. Send Relief Ministry Center Memphis is hoping to reach every home in our city with the gospel of Jesus Christ making this resource available to the community.
The Red Cross goal is, “to prevent fire-related deaths and injuries in the U.S. by installing 2.5 million free smoke alarms and helping to make 1 million households safer in at-risk communities.”
