Several years ago, a computer hacker accessed my computer, pointed out a potential problem then proceeded to offer a fix for a price. This anonymous intruder promised to solve the problem if I mailed him a check.
The good news is that Jesus was victorious over Satan at the Cross and as a follower of Jesus Christ, you can have success and victory over Satan’s schemes through the power of the Holy Spirit who indwells you. We overcome doubt by placing our trust in the Lord. Remember, the Lord is trustworthy. He is all-knowing and all-powerful. Recall all the good and remarkable things He has done in your life. You can overcome doubt as you pray and meditate on God’s Word. Jesus overcame Satan’s temptation by quoting the Word of God, and that is what we must do also. There is no need to argue or debate, just speak the Word of God.
The world is full of agents, entities and individuals seeking to deceive by causing doubt. Doubt has been a normal part of life since Satan tempted Eve to doubt God’s goodness. When the serpent said, “Did God really say, ‘You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’?” (Gen. 3:1), he was causing her to doubt God. Adam and Eve had the freedom to enjoy fruit from any tree in the garden, except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 2:17). Satan subtlety suggested that God was keeping something good from Adam and Eve. He accused God of being selfish. Satan is always trying to place God in a negative light and suggest that God’s standards are old-fashioned, outdated, unrealistic, or too narrow-minded.
Satan employs those same tactics today. His strategy is to create doubt that causes us to stumble and fall.
There are many sources today, claiming to offer advice and help, don’t be deceived. You have the power to defeat Satan’s schemes and experience God’s success and victory over doubt.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
