Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth,

1 John 3:18

Friends, as we reflect on this last summer, we are so thankful for how you helped us to live out God’s Word to love Memphis in deed and truth!

Over the summer our Send Relief team hosted seven weeks of mission teams as well as numerous local churches serving for day projects.

We carried out ministry center renovations, worked on church buildings, resourced Compassion Ministry Connectors from twelve churches, helped with a church summer camp at Miracle of Redemption in Nutbush, trained teams in human trafficking awareness, canvassed an apartment complex in Whitehaven with Hope Fellowship Baptist, washed police cars in Raleigh with Bellevue College ministry, shared the gospel in a Raleigh laundromat, sang Christ praise with mission teams, and more! In it all, we were able to train churches to serve with Christ’s compassion and share the gospel.

One of our favorite memories was a program we call “Loads of Compassion,” where we help our homeless friends from the Hospitality Hub to do their laundry. While they waited we had several opportunities to listen to their stories, share the gospel, and pray with them, like one young couple we met who shared how they were struggling without a car as the husband works all he can to pay their bills. They welcomed prayer and to hear the gospel, which gave them much hope in their difficulties.

Please pray for this couple to get more connected to a local church and for the Lord to provide all their needs along with many who are struggling in our city.

Summer teams also helped us to continue with building renovations including preparing spaces for painting, new windows, new electrical wiring in progress, and the gym restoration. We are thankful for over twenty churches who were able to partner with us in serving.

To God Be the Glory,
